Quicklook@Dogs

We share a stronger bond with dogs than we do with any other animal. They have been an intrinsic part of our history since before records began and are, without doubt, mankind’s closest friend.

Quicklook@Dogs explores the extraordinary relationship we have with our canine companions. It explores the origins of the species and its development, explaining how and why different breeds have developed, both naturally and through human interference – not always positive. It looks at the life of a dog, health issues and what laws apply for dog owners, and illuminates some of the key contemporary issues such as dealing with irresponsible breeding and the work done by charities with stray and abandoned animals.

Written by a highly experienced veterinary surgeon and canine specialist, Mel Kavanagh, Quicklook@Dogs also offers practical advice on what we should look out for when getting a dog, and which breeds are best suited to home life.
